How does the RKC certification process work?

1. Preparation for the Workshop

Depending on your training level and the certification level you aim for (License A, B, C, or D), the preparation time can vary from a few weeks to up to 12 months. In this phase, you will learn fundamental techniques and improve your physical fitness to meet the demands of the workshop. The path of preparation is entirely up to you: You can attend special certification preparation workshops with RKC Leadership, take personal training, or participate in RKC seminars and courses for beginners and advanced participants. Alternatively, you can prepare independently. If you do not pass the exam immediately, you have the option to retake it within three months.

2. Learning and Deepening Techniques and Trainer Competencies During the Workshop

The RKC workshop is an intensive training that focuses on both the correct execution of kettlebell exercises and your skills as a trainer (such as program design and teaching movements). There are different workshop formats:

  • One-day workshops for License C and D
  • Two-day workshops for License A and B

In these workshops, you will receive practical guidance and theoretical knowledge. At the end of the workshop, an objective assessment of your skills will take place.

3. Examination

The examination takes place at the end of the workshop. Your practical skills and theoretical knowledge will be tested. You must execute the techniques correctly and be able to explain and pass them on. A strength test will also be conducted to check your strength and endurance.

4. Retake Period for Failed Examination

If you do not pass the examination on-site, you have a retake period of three months to meet the requirements. During this time, you can improve your techniques and retake the exam.

5. Three Years of Certification Benefits

After successfully passing the exam, you are certified as an RKC Kettlebell Instructor for three years. During this time, you will benefit from numerous advantages, including discounted equipment, access to exclusive training resources, and the opportunity to position yourself as an international kettlebell trainer.

6. Re-Certification or Higher Certification Level

After three years, you must either renew your certification or achieve a higher certification level. This ensures that you are always up to date with kettlebell training methods and continuously develop your skills.

Conclusion

The RKC certification program is a comprehensive concept based on four certification levels. It offers you the opportunity to perfect your skills as a kettlebell instructor and kettlebell athlete in the long term. You will receive all the necessary tools to train your students safely and effectively and achieve an impressive level of strength and endurance yourself. Continuous education and the possibility of re-certification ensure that you remain up to date with training methods and can continuously expand your knowledge.
