Find Your Mentor

Find Your Mentor

A mentor is an experienced person who shares their knowledge with another person. Especially in kettlebell training, the work of a qualified trainer is an absolute must for development. The value of a mentor cannot be overstated, whether in nutrition, training, or mindset. Unlike a book or video, a good coach brings their personal experiences that have shaped them. No matter what stage you are at, it is always incredibly helpful. But how do you find someone like that?

Anyone can be your mentor. Perhaps this person already lives in your environment, and you just haven't realized it yet. A parent, a friend, a partner, or even a professional coach. Look out for people who motivate and encourage you. Still can't find anyone? Then visit various networks, workshops, gyms, or forums. You might find someone there.

Don't be afraid to ask. If you already have someone in mind as a mentor, don't be afraid to approach them and simply ask. What good does it do if you realize that you want to progress and need professional advice, but then you don't dare to approach the potential mentor? Be brave and go for it, because what do you have to lose?

Don't fixate on one advisor. There will never be just one person who can advise you on all matters. So seek out several trainers in your environment, with different backgrounds, experiences, goals, and perspectives. From this interplay, you will be able to take away an incredible amount.

Try to give something back. Be aware that a good coach brings a corresponding value that you must be willing to offer. However, regardless of that, you can give even more back. Positive feedback is worth more than pure gold to most coaches. Because of course, you also have your own perspective and experiences that can help your mentor. Don't worry, the right mentor is definitely out there for you! And then it's time to ask questions, listen, observe, and not let criticism frustrate you!

Have fun and all the best, your Max!

Did you know?

.....that the kettlebell swing is for the a****? A core element of this exercise is an explosive hip extension. For hip extension, your hamstrings, lower back, and glute muscles must work together. Your entire posterior chain is put under tension, and you improve your muscle coordination. Especially the gluteus maximus has to do a lot of work. So the exercise is a true "bootymaker."
